Supporting Carbon Emission Reduction, Danareksa SOE Holding Plants 10,000 Trees Across 7 Industrial Parks

Jakarta, 24 November 2025 - PT Danareksa (Persero), or the Danareksa SOE Holding, together with seven industrial park members of the Holding, carried out the planting of 10,000 tree seedlings as part of the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program to support carbon emission reduction. The tree-planting activity was conducted simultaneously across seven industrial parks: Surabaya Industrial Estate Rungkut (SIER), Kawasan Industri Wijayakusuma (KIW), Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung (JIEP), Kawasan Berikat Nusantara (KBN), Kawasan Industri Makassar (KIMA), Kawasan Industri Medan (KIM), and Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang (KITB), over the past weekend (21/11).

Agus Widjaja, Corporate Secretary & CSR of the Danareksa SOE Holding, stated, ‘The planting of these 10,000 trees represents a tangible contribution by the Danareksa SOE Holding to supporting carbon emission reduction while improving air quality within industrial park environments. This concrete action reflects our commitment to building a greener and more sustainable industrial ecosystem.’

Agus stated that this program is part of roadmap Danareksa’s sustainability initiatives, which place environmental issues as a top priority through reducing the carbon footprint across all industrial parks, increasing Green Open Spaces (RTH), and implementing the concept green industrial estate, as well as environmental management in accordance with ESG standards (Environmental, Social, Governance).

The seedlings planted include tree species with high carbon absorption capacity, such as rain trees (trembesi), tabebuya, ketapang kencana, and other types of shade trees proven to effectively improve air quality. These trees not only function as carbon absorbers, but also help preserve biodiversity, improve soil quality, reduce air temperatures, and create a healthier working environment for communities surrounding the industrial parks.

The tree-planting activities, which began in 2024, are in line with the government’s agenda to accelerate the energy transition, develop low-carbon industries, and achieve targeted Net Zero Emission Net Zero Emissions (NZE) by 2060. The planting of 10,000 trees is estimated to absorb around 28 tons of CO₂ per year, thereby contributing to climate change adaptation and mitigation efforts.

For reference, the Danareksa SOE Holding currently manages seven of Indonesia’s largest strategic industrial parks, spread across the country, with a total area of 7,800 hectares that has attracted approximately USD 10 billion in total investment, and accommodates more than 1,600 tenant tenants from 25 countries, and employs approximately 300,000 workers.

‘The industrial parks under the Danareksa SOE Holding are designed to serve as modern, integrated centers of economic growth while prioritizing environmental sustainability. Therefore, we are committed to continuously strengthening TJSL programs that deliver tangible benefits to communities and the environment, in alignment with the Government’s Asta Cita agenda,’ Agus concluded.
